Imprisoned former Minister of Defense, Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim was transported from prison to Male’ City for treatment this Monday morning.
Nazim was sentenced to 11 years in prison after he was found guilty of owning war weaponry. He lost appeal both at High Court and Supreme Court.
Media officer at Maldives Correctional Service, Ahmed Lugman reported that Nazim was brought to Male’ City at 9 am. And that he has now been taken back to prison.
“Sun” has been able to confirm that Nazim was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment. However, Maldives Correctional Service has refused to comment on the nature of treatment.
Nazim was transferred back to prison four months ago after months under house arrest.
