Officer injured in collision to undergo facial surgery

The family of Police Lance Corporal, Ahmed Nadheem, involved in the traffic collision in Gaafi Alifu Villingili on Thursday, has said that he is preparing to under go a facial surgery.

The collision took place while he was on the way to rescue the couple who drowned at sea near Raivehreha off the south side of Villingili, and suffered serious injuries.

His family said that Nadheem would under go surgery on Tuesday at the Aster Medical Hospital in Kochi, India.

Following the collision, Nadheem was brought to Malé City last Wednesday due to the head trauma he had sustained. After extensive testing, he was advised to go abroad.

The family said that Nadheem said that he is suffering from the dislocated bones in his face. But his condition is improving and is on a liquid diet now.
