Bangladeshi drug smuggler arrested

A Bangladeshi national who smuggled drugs in to the Maldives has been arrested.

Maldives Customs Service said that they arrested a 26-year-old man yesterday who arrived in the Maldives from Bangladesh after finding drugs on him when he was searched due to suspicious behavior.

The drugs seized from the man has been tested positive for amphetamine according to the Customs Service.

Customs said that a total of 1057 tabs weighing 330 grams were found on the man and the custody of both the smuggler and the drugs have been transferred to the Maldives Police Service.
