Three roads completed with tarmac in Kulhudhuffushi

Three roads in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi has been developed with tarmac under the government project to modernize the roads of the island.

Upgrades on 18 roads in Kulhudhuffushi, is contracted to Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC). The project is worth more that MVR 60 million.

MRDC said that the three roads with the tarmac complete are the Fandiyaaru Magu, Marukazu Magu and Magaan Magu.

With a population of over 12,000, Kulhudhuffushi is the largest population in the north. And one of the biggest challenges facing it's people is the flooding on the streets in the rainy season. By the end of the MRDC project, a solution to the problem will be brought with 5.8 kilometers of tarmac road.

Contractor MRDC said that the project has been slowed down these days due to rain and is not on schedule but the project is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
