Eyewitnesses of Arham

Commissioner of Police Abdullah Riyaz has said that the eyewitnesses of Arham’s murder have refused to provide statements.

Riyaz said that a big part of the investigation has been completed, but that the eyewitnesses have refused to provide statements due to the lack of a witness protection law.

Police are making efforts to ensure that the case can be proven in court.

Riyaz said that the case will be sent to Prosecutor General’s Office soon upon completion of investigations.

Mohamed Arham, of Nooreege, Ha. Hoarafushi, was found assaulted and stabbed to death in Lorenzo Park in Male’ on 29 May.

Police have arrested six people in relation to this crime, but so far not revealed details of any of them.
