Two surprise deaths in Hulhumalé: A man and a woman

Two young people have died in Hulhumalé tonight in two separate incidents.

Hulhumalé Hospital said that a young man and a woman died in two separate incidents.

The man died after chest pains following a football match while the woman drowned on a visit to the beach.

Media Official of the Hulhumalé Hospital, Ashiya Solih said that a 22-year-old man was brought to the hospital around 8:30 p.m. tonight followed by a 21-year-old man. Both from the island of Thimarafushi.

The 22-year-old was dead on arrival. And the 21-year-old man is now recovering but he cannot speak yet from the shock.

The Media Official said that the two young men had sand on them when they were brought to the hospital and so far it is unclear where they were brought from.

The other person taken to the Hulhumalé Hospital tonight was an 18-year-old woman who was dead when she arrived at the hospital.
