Mundhu nominated to replace Zahiya as Ambassador to Lanka

Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) has been nominated to replace Zahiya Zareer as the Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka.

People’s Majlis is set to deliberate on sending Mundhu’s nomination to a committee for evaluation in the session scheduled for Tuesday.

Mundhu is currently the Maldivian Ambassador to Japan. The President’s Office has not yet made any announcement that he has been relieved of the post.

Mundhu will replace the former Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Zahiya Zareer. The reason behind the sudden decision to relieve her of the post is unclear.
