Neeza quits after her nomination is withdrawn

Assistant Governor of Maldives Monetary Authority, Neeza Imad has resigned from her post after the President’s Office withdrew her nomination as Governor of MMA.

An official from MMA confirmed that Neeza submitted her resignation this Sunday, but gave no explanation for the decision.

“Sun” has been informed her resignation is connected to the President’s Office’s decision to withdraw her nomination as Governor of MMA.

Neeza, who has a Masters of Commerce, is a member of the MMA Board of Directors and Head of MMA’s Financial Stability Division. She has worked at MMA for over 31 years. She has also been serving as the Alternative Governor of International Monetary Fund (IMF) from Maldives since 2014.

Neeza’s name has been replaced with Ahmed Naseer for the Governor position.
