Multigrade Teaching introduced to schools with few children

Multigrade Teaching where teachers have to teach many grades all at the same time, has been introduced nation-wide.

The teaching system was introduced by the Education Ministry, Dr. Aishath Shiham at a special ceremony held at the Vaavu atoll Education Center.

Multigrade Teaching system was introduced in an effort to provide quality education in the schools with fewer students to provide them with the skills and characteristics taught in a classroom by combining grades in one classroom.

While the system has been in a test phase since 2015, the system will be officially introduced next year where it will be implemented in 44 school. The Education Ministry has said the TVs, theater system and the classroom setup has now been completed.
