The MP for Vilingili constituency, Saud Hussain has said that there is no place to hide from the police and he has informed the police of his location.
Maldives Police Service released the photo of the MP Saud Hussain yesterday seeking assistance from the public to find him in relation to an ongoing investigation.
MP Saud told Sun Media today that he does not know why the police put out an alert to find him since there is no place to hide from them. He said that he had notified where he was to the police through his lawyers.
Saud said that police did visit his residence after the alert but he was out of the house at that time.
The MP for Vilingili constituency said that the last time he was arrested, contact information on his lawyer was given and his family would also provide information.
Police have neither confirmed or denied whether they had information regarding the MP after the alert. And the efforts of Sun Media to gain the information had been unsuccessful.
The alert put out for MP Saud was for his involvement in breaching the police ranks and forcing their way into the grounds of the parliament on Tuesaday.
He was also arrested on Tuesday night before being released shortly after. He was released due to a clerical error in his arrest warrant.
The court order executed on Tuesday night said that MP Saud was being arrested because MP Ameeth, the MP for Maduvvari constituency, poses a threat to the public. MP Ameeth was arrested last night as well.
While some MPs have been summoned and questioned by the police, others, such as the MP for Thulusdhoo constituency, Ibrahim Waheed (Lawyer Wadde) was arrested.
