Police releases photo to find MP Saud

Maldives Police Service has released the photo of the MP for Vilingili constituency, Saud Hussain, seeking assistance from the public to find him in relation to an ongoing investigation.

While his picture has been released, he was also arrested on Tuesday night before being released shortly after. He was released due to a clerical error in his arrest warrant.

The court order executed on Tuesday night said that MP Saud was being arrested because MP Ameeth, the MP for Maduvvari constituency, poses a threat to the public. MP Ameeth was arrested last night as well.

Police are looking for MP Saud for his involvement in breaching the police ranks and forcing their way into the grounds of the parliament.

While some MPs have been summoned and questioned by the police, others, such as the MP for Thulusdhoo constituency, Ibrahim Waheed (Lawyer Wadde) was arrested.
