The order for the arrest and remand extension against the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon has been submitted for appeal.
Criminal Court ruled against MP Faaris, arrested for bribing MPs, to detention until the end of his trial on Wednesday.
In a tweet sent out by Maumoon Hameed, he said that the documents have been filed for an appeal for the arrest warrant and remand.

Lawyers representing the MP have said that it was outside the law that he was arrested and taken to Dhoonidhoo.
Along with bribery, MP Faaris has also been charged with misrepresentation.
The misrepresentation charge was brought forth for the use of PPM flag and logo without permission at a press conference at Mookai Suites on 12 March 2017 after he was dismissed from the party.
