Victim of decompression sickness airlifted to Addu City

A victim of Diving Decompression Sickness was airlifted from G. Dh. Thinadhoo to Gan, Addu City on an MNDF helicopter this Sunday.

Maldives National Defense Force reported that the 50-year-old Maldivian man being treated for decompression sickness at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo was airlifted to

Gan at 11:30 am this Sunday. He was airlifted on the MNDF helicopter “Kurangi”.

MNDF said the man was airlifted to Gan after Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital requested that he be transported to Shangri-La's Villingili Resort & Spa for further treatment.
