Ex-PG Muhthaz admitted at ADK Hospital

Former Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin has been admitted to ADK Hospital.

Muhthaz is currently serving a 17-year prison sentence for conspiracy to illegally arrest President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

Information officer at Maldives Correctional Service, Ahmed Lugmaan confirmed that Muhthaz has been admitted to ADK Hospital. He said only that Muhthaz was admitted to the hospital for “medical treatment”, and disclosed no details.

“Sun” has been informed through sources that Muhthaz was admitted when he was taken to in for consultation due to problems with his spine.

Muhthaz was admitted to ADK Hospital five months ago for administration of a spinal injection.

Muhthaz’s family claims Maldives Correctional Service was negligent in providing him with the care he needs.
