MATATO Travel Awards: People's Edition set for Thursday

MATATO Maldives Travel Awards, organized by the Maldives Associaiton for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), is most prestigious in the field of tourism in the Maldives. This year marks the seventh year of the award show. As the show grows and branches to four separate editions, the first edition has been set for this Thursday.

The first edition of the MATATO Travel Awards in the People's Edition where ten people in the fields related to tourism will be celebrated.

Deputy to the Secretary General of MATATO, Asra Naseem (Asu) said that the ten winners have now been selected and each winner will receive an award as a Tourism Personality of the Year.

The MATATO Travel Awards: People's Edition will be part of the Gala of Travel Trade Maldives Fair ongoing at the Adaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi.

A number of people working in the tourism sector of the country are set to take part in the award ceremony.

Following the People's Edition will be the Guesthouse Edition of the MATATO Travel Awards along with a travel conference organized by MATATO. The last event in the year will be the Gala Night of the MATATO Travel Awards.

Unlike past years, the events in the Travel Awards are being organized by MATATO themselves.

The title sponsor for all editions of the MATAO Travel Awards is the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL). The company has taken up the title sponsor for a seventh consecutive year.
