Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) are lending assistance after a boat carrying sand to Th. Thimarafushi sand this Sunday morning.
MNDF’s media official said the authority received report of the sinking at approximately 11 am this Sunday. He said a team of divers was dispatched from L. Kadhdhoo on a Coastguard harbor craft speedboat to lend assistance immediately.
The official reported the 35-foot boat “Dhoadhi” sank 33 meters below, near the old channel used in Thimarafushi.
There were three Maldivians on board the boat when the incident took place, all of them unharmed, reported MNDF.
Owners of the boat and MNDF Central Area officers are working on towing the boat.
