Fire destroy car at a house in Hithadhoo

A fire that began on a car parked inside a residential house in Hithadhoo, Addu City, has destroyed the vehicle beyond use.

The fire destroyed a Honda FIT at the incident late last night.

Media official of the Police said that the fire was reported at 2:30 a.m. last night and when the fire was extinguished with the combined effort of the police, MNDF Fire and Rescue and the public, the car was destroyed beyond use.

Sources say that the vehicle involved in the fire was a new car just recently brought to Addu City.

Police said that the incident is under investigation and it is too early to say if the fire was set intentionally.
