Expat arrested in relation to Ihavandhoo murder

A foreigner has been arrested in relation to the man found killed inside the ice plant run on Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo by the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).

The man arrested by the police is one of the four employees and the only expatriate employee at the ice plant.

Sources say that the man found dead is 54-year-old Ismail Umar from Lhaviyani atoll Hinnavaru.

Maldives Police Service has confirmed the arrest of the expatriate in relation to the crime.
