Man, woman arrested in mugging

Police have arrested a male and female suspect in connection with a mugging in Male’ City.

The male suspect is 24 years of age and the female suspect is 21 years of age.

Police report the mugging took place at approximately 1:46 am this Monday.

The suspects stole MVR 3,500 from the victim.

No further details have been released as it is an ongoing investigation.

A mugger held a box cutter to a woman’s throat and stole her phone and laptop in a similar incident in Male’ City on June 7.
