“Sun” has been informed the Maldivian girl – who’s death is under investigation by Maldives Police Service – died in neighboring Sri Lanka sometime last Friday evening.
MPS Spokesperson, Superintendent Ahmed Shifan, Friday night, confirmed the authority was investigating the death of a four-year-old Maldivian girl in Sri Lanka, but released no details.
A source close to the family reported to “Sun” that the girl was three years old and had been living in Sri Lanka with her mother.
The source said the cause of death was still undecided, and that the girl’s body was being kept at the mortuary of Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.
The source also said a team from MPS was due to travel to Sri Lanka to investigate the case.
When asked for a comment regarding the statement, Spokesperson Shifan said information regarding the case would be released to media sometime this Saturday.
