Senior Editor of V News, Rifaau summoned to the police

The Senior Editor of the online news, V-News, under V-Media, Ahmed Rifaau has been summoned to the police station by the regarding an article in relation to the arrest of the former Managing DIrector of the State Trading Organization (STO), Adam Azim.

Rifaau, also a member of the Media Council, told Sun Media that the police ordered him to appear at the police station at 8:30 p.m. tonight.

But the summon being last minute, he requested the police to change the time to tomorrow.

The V-News Editor said that police is summoning him in relation to a story on the arrested of the former Managing Director of STO.

There has been no word from the police regarding the summon.

The brother of the former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim, currently serving an 11-year prison sentence, Adam Azim, was arrested on 8 June 2017 for spreading false information regarding the judicial system and of working to overthrow the elected government outside the law.
