Colonel Nazim and Sheikh Imran moved to house arrest for Ramadan

Former Defence Minister, Colonel-retired Mohamed Nazim and the President of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has been moved to house arrest for the holy month of Ramadan.

Correctional Service confirmed to the transfer this evening to Sun Media.

Nazim is currently serving an 11-year prison sentence for import and possession of a firearm.

Shiekh Imran was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being convicted of terrorism for supporting violence in his speech on 1 May 2015.
