Ramadan begins on Saturday

The official announcement has been made confirming that Ramadan 1438 will begin this Saturday.

The decision was made after a meeting of the committee established to confirm the moon sighting for the holy month of Ramadan. The committee decided that the moon was not sighted at any Islamic country at dusk today.

Astronomical data shows the sunset to Malé City occurred today 19 minutes after the moonset. Far north of the country had the sunset 20 minutes the moonset while the far south experienced the sunset 17 minutes after the moonset.
