MET Office: Strong winds expected up to Friday

National Meteorological Service has said that strong winds are expected until the end of Friday.

Meteorological Technician, Ibrahim Waheed told Sun Media today that strong winds are expected for the next two days but it is not believed the strong winds will be at a dangerous level.

He said that rain is expected in the central and northern atolls of the country for the next 24 hours.

Torrential rain is expected in the central atolls with wind speed between 10-20 mph from south and southwest. Winds are expected to be 8-15 mph in other parts of the country.

Winds are expected to pick up up to 35 mph during showers and the seas will be relatively rough.
