The six people onboard the landing craft “Maria-3” which went missing arrived in Male’ City onboard the Indian navy ship “INS Krisch” this Tuesday morning.
Indian navy ship “INS Krisch” assisted the Maldivian authorities in the search and rescue of the landing craft and the six people onboard – a Maldivian couple, three Bangladesh nationals and a Sri Lankan.
The navy ship arrived in Male’ City with the six people at approximately 8 am, this Tuesday.
Landing craft “Maria-3” went missing on May 16 after waves repeatedly crashed into the landing craft resulting in the chain holding its ramp in place broke, leaving the ramp hanging out and the crew onboard unable to steer the ship in the right direction.
Maldives National Defense Force and Indian authorities searched 10,900 nautical miles to search for the landing craft after it went missing.
It was spotted 130 nautical miles outside of L. Isdhoo by an Indian military aircraft on May 20.
