Maldives Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (MATATO) has endorsed the regional award show organized by High Rise, the South Asia Travel Awards (SATA) and signed on as an associate partner.
The endorsement was officially notified today. The Secretary General of MATATO, Ibrahim Munaz sent a signed letter to High Rise stating that the organizers of SATA, High Rise and MATATO share a history and High Rise has worked closely with MATATO to materialize the ideas.
MATATO is an association that works to promote and create paths for the small and mid-level travel agencies and tour operators in the Maldives.
High Rise and MATATO has collaborated to host a number of events related to the tourism sector including the MATATO Travel Awards. They have also worked together in local and international events.

SATA is an international brand branched out from High Rise. The first South Asian Travel Awards was held with 270 nominations at Mount Lavinia Hotel, Sri Lanka. At the function the Maldives won 18 of the most prestigious awards in South Asia.
