Foreigner wanted in relation to a rape case

Maldives Police Service has released the identity and photo of a foreigner wanted in connection with a rape case.

The suspect is Rashid Miya, 30, from Bangladesh.

MPS reports Rashid Miya is wanted in connection with a rape case under investigation by the General Investigation Department.

He is also under investigation in a separate case.

MPS has appealed for the public’s help in locating and apprehending Rashid Miya.

Anyone with information regarding Rashid Miya’s whereabouts has been asked to call police hotline 332-2111 or GID’s duty number 963-1696.
