A woman has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after she was found guilty of enabling a minor perform sexual acts with another individual.
The sentence was issued by H. Dh. Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court against Naseema Ali from Pansymaage in Kulhudhuffushi.
Naseema was found guilty of enabling and encouraging a female minor – who was in a position of trusting her - into performing sexual acts with another individual on multiple occasion dating back to 2014.
The court found Naseema guilty beyond reasonable doubt of enabling the minor perform sexual acts.
Under the special regulation in dealing with sexual offenses involving child victims, any individual in a position which inspires trust of a minor enabling the minor to perform a sexual act is an offense.
The court had already sentenced Naseema to six months in prison for failing to report knowledge of a sexual act involving a minor.
