Man arrested from Thaa Atoll for sexual assault

A male suspect has been arrested by police from Thaa Atoll for sexually assaulting a boy.

Police said the 44-year-old suspect was arrested from an island in Thaa Atoll on March 30.

The suspect remains jailed as police investigate the case.

Police have been granted a 10-day remand period for the detention of the suspect by the island’s magistrate court.
