Qasim: was summoned to police for an audio sample

Leader of Jumhooree Party (JP), Qasim Ibrahim has said that he was summoned by the Maldives Police Service today to get an audio sample regarding an ongoing investigation.

Talking to the press after appearing at the police headquarters, Qasim said that the audio sample was taken regarding the same investigation about which he was summoned before to prepare an audio analysis report on his voice.

The police investigation regarding the JP Leader is the alleged offering of bribes of MPs in his speech at Maafannu Kunooz on the night of 26 March 2017.

At an opposition event, Qasim said that the four opposition leaders would help anyway they can to get the MPs who vote against the Speaker, Maseeh, to get re-elected next term.
