Large portion of the capital has lost power

A large portion of the capital has lost electricity today.

In the blackout around 10 a.m. today, portions from all wards of the city lost power.

Deputy Director of the State Electric Company (STELCO), Abdulla Naazir told Sun Media that the power blackout occurred when two engines failed.

The power failure has also caused some houses trouble getting water.

With no response from MWSC, there has been no official response.
