Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has said that they are considering taking against the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon who was dismissed from the party but continue to representing the party without any authority.
PPM issued a statement last night condemning the MP’s actions following the opposition press conference yesterday where Faaris represented PPM with the flag.
The PPM statement said that the Civil Court has ruled that the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is in charge of the PPM and so the party would be represented by President Yameen or a person assigned by the President.
PPM said that the actions of the former member of the party, Faaris by using the flag and logo of the party is a violation of the rights of the members of the party and stooping very low.
The party said that joining those who are working to smear the name of the country when they are envious of the development and progress being brought to the country by President Yameen is not something a member or a supporter of PPM would do.
The statement said that the party is considering taking legal action against those who are doing such things.
