President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has met with the parliament members of PPM and MDA regarding the no confidence vote pending against the President of the Parliament, Abdulla Maseeh.
The official Twitter account of the PPM’s Parliamentary Group confirms that the no confidence vote was the topic of discussion at the meeting held at the PPM Head Office last night.
It is unclear how many MPs attended the meeting.
The opposition presented the no confidence motion with 25 signatures and have said that they have the 42 votes needed to pass the motion.
But the ruling party, PPM said that the opposition would get 25 votes at the most.
The vote on the no confidence motion against the Parliament President is set for the session on 27 March 2017.
