Island Council: Don’t know why bullet struck, people want to know

Kaafu atoll Hinmafushi Island Council has said that they still do not know the truth about how a bullet was struck to a house on the island and the people of the island are concerned about it.

President of the Hinmafushi Island Council, Shan Ibrahim told Sun Media today that no information has been revealed from an investigative body regarding the bullet that hit an house’s window earlier this year.

The Council President previously said that the bullet that struck a door was from the the training island of Gririfushi according to MNDF.

Both the Police and the MNDF said that no information can be released regarding the investigation.,

While the doors of two different residential homes in Hinmafushi have been struck by a stray bullet, the people of the island say that they came from the nearby training Girifushi used by MNDF.

The other question is if there are firearms in Hinmafushi. Regarding the issue, Maldives Police Service confirmed to Sun Media that there are no firearms in the island.
