Civil Service Commission has instructed all pregnant women working in civil service positions to stay home on paid-leave until instructed otherwise by the commission.
CSC gave the instruction via a statement issued this Thursday.
The commission noted that pregnant women were categorized as a high-risk group for complications as a result of H1N1 virus which is spreading at an unprecedented rate in the country.
All civil service organizations have been instructed to arrange paid-leave for its pregnant employees when presented with a document issued by a registered healthcare worker or institute which confirms the pregnancy.
CSC has instructed pregnant civil servants to do their work from home, if possible, and provide assistance in office work when absolutely necessary.
