Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Faris Maumoon has been summoned by Anti-Corruption Commission for questioning.
Faris said he had been summoned by ACC in a tweet he made at noon, this Monday.
In his tweet, Faris alleged that the summons was an attempt at harassment prior to the vote of no confidence on the Speaker of People’s Majlis Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed – which he had petitioned for.
I have been asked to appear before @acc_maldives This appears to be politically motivated harassment before the Speaker's no confidence vote

Faris did not state what the summons was in reference to.
ACC was unavailable for comment regarding the summons.
25 lawmakers from Maldivian Democratic Party, Jumhoory Party and those loyal to former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom within ruling Progressive Party Maldives signed the petition.
