Saudia to double direct flights between Male’, Saudi Arabia

Maldivian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Abdulla Hameed has announced the Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudi) will be doubling its direct flights between Male’ City and Saudi Arabia.

Saudia started its direct flight operations in Male’ City on March 30, 2016 with two weekly flights between Male’ City and Riyadh.

In an interview to Saudi Arabian newspaper “Arab News”, Ambassador Hameed said that Saudia will be doubling its flights between Male’ City and Saudi Arabia with two more weekly direct flights between Male’ City and Jeddah.

Saudia has not announced when the expansion will happen.

Ambassador Hameed said the expansion will provide a further boost in number of Saudi Arabian tourists visiting Maldives.

15,749 Saudi tourists visited Maldives in 2015, which increased to 21,944 Saudi tourists in 2016. It’s a 39.5 percent increase.
