National bank, Bank of Maldives has launched its “BML Cashless Ride” service which allows the bank’s customers to pay for taxi services using their BML debit and credit cards.
“BML Cashless Ride” was introduced this Tuesday as part of the bank’s 28-day “Aharenge Bank” community campaign.
The payment will be made using Point-of-Sale (POS) machines installed in taxis.
BML customers now have the option of using any cash card accepted by the bank to make the payment, or using its MobilePay service to make the payment.
Speaking to press after launching the “BML Cashless Ride” service, Deputy CEO and Director of Operations of BML, Mohamed Shareef said the bank was happy to be able to provide such a safe and convenient service to its customers.
Mohamed Shareef said the service will cut down the time spent counting money to pay for the ride and time spent waiting for change in the congested streets of Male’ City.
BML has a nationwide network of 31 branches across all 20 atolls, 78 ATMs, 4,000 Point of Sale merchants, 190 cash agents, 19 Self Service Banking Centres and 5 Dhoni Banking Units, as well as a full suite of Digital and Online Banking Services.
“Aharenge Bank” campaign is designed to support multiple initiatives in an extensive range of fields to support local communities.
