Boats warned to be on alert for drifting wood near Kaashidhoo

Maldives National Defense Force has asked boats to be on alert for drifting wood from the boat which wrecked on K. Kaashidhoo reef on Wednesday evening.

Spokesperson for MNDF said that the authority received report of the incident at 4:30 pm. The boat was hauled off the reef at approximately 3 am, this Thursday morning.

He said no one was injured in the incident, and that it caused no extensive damage to the boat.

However, piles of timber the boat was carrying fell into the sea and is drifting towards B. Atoll.

MNDF has asked all boats travelling in the area to be on alert for drifting wood, especially during night time.
