Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) asked the Hulhumalé Hospital not to keep the sick people being transferred to Malé City on the floor before bringing them on the ferry.
The procedure is to bring the sick person onboard the ferry directly from the Ambulance. However, the patients being moved to Malé for further treatment are kept on the floor, where people walk, in a stretcher until the other passengers board the ferry.
Manager of the MTCC Hulhumalé Ferry Operation, Mohamed Nazim told Sun Media today that the Hulhumalé Hospital has been ordered not to do that since it is believed to have continued as such due to misinformation.
With no special arrangements to transfer sick people on the Hulhumalé ferries, Nizam said that they request that the hospital book a separate ferry to transfer patients and the MTCC provides that service.
