Pakistan embassy in Maldives has made a financial donation of USD 4,761.91 (MVR 73,248.65) to Maldives Autism Association.
The cheque was presented to Managing Director of Autism Association, Ifham Hussein by Pakistan ambassador, Vice Admiral Syed Khawar Ali Shah in a function held at Autism Association this Tuesday morning.
Speaking to “Sun” after the function, Ifham said the donation will be used to purchase teaching material and stationary for the education center in Autism Association’s Hulhumale’ office, scheduled to open in March.
The donation by Pakistan embassy follows the donation of USD 8,000 (MVR 124,902) made by the Chinese embassy to Autism Association in August, 2016.
Autism Association reported the donation was used for therapy sessions, teacher salaries and to settle fees of students who were unable to pay it.
