Bid announcement made for sustainable energy systems in Sh., N. Atoll

Ministry of Finance and Treasury has made the bid announcement for design, construction and maintenance of sustainable energy systems in Sh. Atoll and N. Atoll.

In the bid announcement published on Wednesday, January 25, Ministry of Finance and Treasury said that the sustainable energy systems in the two atolls was part of the “Preparing Outer Islands for Sustainable Energy Development (POISED) Project, run by Ministry of Environment with loan assistance from European Investment Bank.

Those who apply and win the bid will be required to design, supply, install and maintain renewable energy hybrid power plants in the two atolls.

In addition, the diesel power plants in the atolls need to be converted to hybrid systems powered by renewable energy. The diesel power plants also need to be automated, and the quality of power distribution grids improved.

Interested parties are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of USD 100, which needs to be paid from January 29 to March.

The bid security for the project is USD 240,000.

The pre-bid meeting is scheduled to be held at Ministry of Finance and Treasury at 10 am,

February 16.

Bids will be opened on April 3.
