Media Council condemns cyber-attack on Vaguthu

Maldives Media Council (MMC) has condemned the cyber-attack against the Maldivian online news outlet Vaguthu changing the website to inappropriate images and texts.

A statement issued by the Council today said that the MMC is very concerned about the attack against the media outlet and the Council does not believe it is something that should happen in an Islamic community no matter the purpose or who was behind the attack.

The MMC called to all media outlets to take preventive measures against such attacks.

Vaguthu said that the cyber-attack has been reported to the Police and they are taking preventive measures against such attacks in the future.
