Two tourist missing, last seen swimming

MNDF has begun a searching for two tourists who went missing, last seen swimming in the sea at Meeru Island Resort in Kaafu atoll.

The search is underway after the two tourists, a 34-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman staying at the resort.

MNDF said that the Coastguard received the report last night around 10:36 p.m. and the search was started immediately on a harbor craft speed launch with divers.

The resort is working with the nearby island of Dhiffushi to find the missing tourists.

The MNDF requests that anyone travelling in the area with any information on the missing tourists be shared with them through the free number 191 or through 339 5981 or 339 8898.
