Maumoon: I don’t support Dunya joining the government

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has said that his daughter, Dunya Maumoon decided to join the government on her own and it is not a decision he supports.

In response, Yumna Maumoon tweeted out saying that she would remain at the side of President Maumoon.

The newly appointed State Minister to the Health Ministry, Dunya, is someone who resigned from her position as the Foreign Minister unhappy with the government policies.

Yumna Maumoon is also someone who resigned from criticized the government. She was the former deputy to the Education Minister.

With the internal turmoil within PPM, former President Maumoon and the current President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has been working separately. Previously all children of the former President worked in the government aside from Ghassan Maumoon.
