ADK Hospital has stated that the man injured in the incident where the rotor blade of an MNDF helicopter hitting a flight boarding steps, is in serious condition.
While an employee of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is being treated at the hospital following the injuries he sustained in the incident, the Managing Director of ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal told Sun Media today that the hospital performed a surgery and the patient is currently in the ICU.
The hospital did not reveal the details of the injuries. Neither the MNDF nor MACL is willing to release the extent of the injuries.
As the investigation into the incident is under way, sources say that the incident occurred yesterday evening when a flight boarding step vehicle drove past near the helicopter before while the rotor blades of the helicopter were still active during the de-boarding a patient on medical transport.
