An MNDF helicopter has hit a stairway used to board airplanes with it’s rotor blade at Velana International Airport.
Information Officer of MNDF, Captain Ibrahim Azim told Sun Media that two people were injured in the incident took place this afternoon.
Captain Azim said that the flight steps were hit by the rotor blade in an attempt to de-board a sick person brought from Gaafu Alifu Villingili.
The two injured in the incident are being treated at Hulhumalé Hospital according to MNDF.
An official from Aasandha told Sun Media that one person is being treated in relation to the incident.
The Official said that the injured person has been advised to transfer to ADK Hospital due to the injury to his abdomen but the person is not in serious condition.
