Training center to be opened for STO employees

Managing Director of the State Trading Organization (STO) has said that have decided to open a training center next year to develop their staff.

Today is the 52nd anniversary of STO.

A special assembly was held this morning at the STO Head Office to commemorate the anniversary of the company.

Speaking at the assembly, the Managing Director of STO, Ahmed Shaheer noted the efforts of STO for the development of the country’s financial and social development of the country.

He said that the main target of STO is to provide quality products at an affordable low price to the people.

Shaheer said that an effort would be put in the future to make STO a customer oriented place. And next year, a training center is set to open to develop their employees.

This year, the state’s fisheries company, Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) was brought under STO as a subsidiary.

And the company earned profit of MVR 248 million in the first three quarters of the year 2016.
