Large-scale Indian companies have expressed interest in operating as general sales agents for the national airline, Maldivian.
The major mission of Maldivian, which participated in the Maldives Investment Forum 2016, held at The Taj Palace in New Delhi, India last Tuesday, was to find Indian sales agents for the airline, and find foreign investment for the airline to acquire more carriers.
“The biggest mission was to find partners for Maldivian’s GSA Sales. We have received good proposals from those we have met so far,” said Head of Procurement of Maldivian, Ali Nasif.
Nasif said that large-scale Indian airline ticket sales agents visited the MIF and expressed interest in partnering with Maldivian.
“Next lays discussing terms and proceeding with it,” he said.
Maldivian was the travel partner of MIF 2016, and transported the Maldivian delegation which participated the forum to New Delhi on a chartered flight.
The airline has a daily, direct scheduled flight between Male’ and Trivandrum, and three, weekly scheduled direct flights between Male’ and Chennai.
It also has a weekly, direct scheduled flight between Hanimaadhoo and Trivandrum.
