PPM Office chained

After the government party split into two factions, the Head Office of PPM, under the Maumoon faction, has been chained and locked by a group of people.

Vice President of the PPM’s Maumoon Faction, Aminath Naadhira told Sun Media tonight that a group of people from PPM’s Yameen faction went to the PPM Head Office around midnight and chained it.

She said that Police was at the scene at the time but they have not yet revealed who the culprit was.

Naadhira said that their people asked to take off the lock but the Police did not allow it. She said that they received word that PPM Secretary General of the Yameen faction, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel was in the area.

So far there has been no word from Dr. Khaleel on the matter.

PPM had planned to hold a function to celebrate the fifth anniversary of PPM earlier tonight but the Police obstructed the event.

Talking to the press at SHE Building, former President of Maldives, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom said that he has retracted his support for the current government.
